Looking for something new in a charity event that your company, family or friends can get involved with?  People for Animal Wellbeing (PAW), formerly known as the SPCA, is launching a unique, fun, and exciting new event called the Backyard Games (BYG) in support of the important services they provide the community.

The BYG will be broken into two sessions both being held on Friday, June 7, 2024. The corporate challenge will take place from Noon – 4 p.m and the friends and family challenge will run from from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the St. Anselme Park (aka Rotary Park) located at 505 Melanson Rd. in Dieppe. The BYG event site will be action-packed with the back yard games zone, a beer garden, side games for spectators, food vendors and music.

This friendly, accessible event is open to participants of all fitness and skill levels. That’s right, our event has none of that pesky running, golfing, paddling or walking for miles; just lots of good old back yard fun throwing stuff around while enjoying a cool beverage on a summer day.

Register your team of four today and get ready to compete in our awesome backyard games as you try and make it to the finals. Sure there will be cool prizes, but most importantly you will win eternal bragging rights as Greater Moncton’s Backyard Champions.

In addition to raising much needed funds for PAW, the corporate side of this event is also designed to be a networking and team building event for the participants.  Meaningful networking opportunities will be accomplished by having up to 48 companies together in a controlled environment where preliminary rounds of the competition will place corporate entities into the round-robin pools. Teambuilding will be fostered through camaraderie building opportunities from both the competition day and any pre-event fundraising activities their team undertakes together. The friends and family session is open to 48 groups who like to have fun and support the great work that PAW provides our community. If you don’t have a team of four we can help find you teammates. We can offer participants charitable receipts as needed.

The tentative games selected for this year are:
